Introduction
One of the main pushes of the Research Clusters is interdisciplinary research. One of the biggest challenges in carrying out this type of research is the fact that we do not have exposure to what other researchers are doing. Therefore, Research Cluster Office is taking the initiative by organizing a series of “Research Rock Star Tour” events. This event is part of Research Cluster’s efforts under the Research Visibility Pillar, and it is hoped that this will strengthen inter-disciplinary research within UM.
So, what is this event?
Researchers from various disciplines will be presenting their research and expertise to audiences of different disciplines. The presentation will not be a standard academic presentation, but rather in a format that can be understood by non-experts (laymen). The focus would be on how the “Rock stars” can use their expertise to contribute to other areas or research. For example, if the “Rock Star” is a mathematician, how can he/she contribute to the business school?
Thus, the aims of the Research Rock Star Tour are as follows:
